In this conversation, Dr. Eun-Ju Lee elaborated on her research trajectory and theoretical development from Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) to media psychology, while offering critical reflections on the challenges posed by AI and emerging technologies. Dr. Lee presented the “Authenticity Model of CMC” and its derivative, the “Integrative Model of Human-Machine Communication” , seeking to integrate traditional and contemporary theoretical frameworks to elucidate individuals’ perceptions of authenticity in technologically mediated content. Furthermore, she provided valuable guidance to early-career scholars, emphasizing the importance of initiating research from theoretical inquiries rather than merely following technological trends.
